I’m obsessed with Fall. There’s no other time of year that wow’s me like when the leaves begin to change. Plus there’s donuts. Win, win.
We were able to finally make it out to the trails last weekend, I can’t believe it took so long. With everything that’s been going on, our free time has been less than minimal. This weekend the fall colors were peaking by our house, the weather was beautiful, and we were not going to miss a golden opportunity to enjoy our favorite season.
I dragged Matt out of bed at 7:30 (actually pretty late for us usually) in order to make it out before the sun really began to rise. There was no one around outside, the air was crisp, the leaves were crunchy, and the sun slowly lit the sky with the softest light. It was my favorite time of day in my favorite season with my favorite person. An amazing morning to say the least.
We ended up walking way longer than we had both expected. Partly because we got a little lost, but partly because we were just enjoying the simple and perfect walk. 3 hours and multiple miles flew by as we meandered through the trails. We brought our coffee along and sipped as we strolled.
I wish we got to spend more mornings like this. It was just another reasoning why we want to work for ourselves, we want to have the freedom to spend the mornings doing what we love then come back home and get right to work. We’re still a ways away from that, but this morning was one to help bring some motivation to that dream. As we move into the holiday season (someone already had Christmas decorations up by us!!) I’m going to be grateful of this beautiful fall morning.
