Monday Motivation: {Reflection}

This weekend my great friend Maddie and I took a trip down memory lane and I-96 all the way to Allendale to help support the women of our sorority chapter as they go through recruitment. It’s amazing what a year and a half will do to a place. There was so many new things that I did not even recognize on campus, it’s almost entirely¬†different. One big difference, the new sorority house! It was gorgeous and I was so happy for the girls who get to live there now that they have such a beautiful space.

One great part about all of this was not reliving my college days, but reflecting on the joy and happiness that they gave me. They made me the woman I am today, and I could not be more grateful for that. My time at Grand Valley and in Delta Zeta changed me for the better and encouraged me to be the best version of myself. This moment of reflection made me so proud to stand where I was, because I knew every step that lead me there was guided and supported.

{Monday Motivation} Reflection // CEO in Progress

It’s hard to find these moments of reflection, where you get a chance to be proud of where you are from and think about all that it took to get you where you are. Too much time has passed¬†since I had that opportunity. Quickly you get worked up in the day-to-day and the to-do lists and the ‘what’s next’ to think about what came before. So here’s your moment to do so.

I want you to think of a moment that you are proud of. One that defined you, lead you, and where you felt like you were alive. Where you were supported, loved, and in control. Reflect on a beautiful moment in your life and be thankful for it. These moments shape you and help empower you to keep going, even when you don’t want to.

There were a lot of things that made me grateful this weekend, but one that truly stands out was having the opportunity to stand where I stood 5 years ago and be thankful for all that came. Give yourself a chance to do the same.

Sincerely,

Let me know what you think!
