Spring Time Desk Essentials

One of the first posts I ever wrote was about the essential items I must have in my desk to get over any hiccup and survive the day. Honestly I looked back on it when I started my new job recently and made sure I had everything I still needed. The items on there still ring very true, but now that spring is (almost) upon us, I wanted to share some things that are super helpful to have on hand for when the seasons shift.

Every year I get excited for spring, but it’s probably my least favorite season. The weather is so unpredictable, its muddy 80% of the time, and plus everyone seems to get really sick this time of the year. None of those are the greatest if you work in an office, so here’s some survival items to help you get through this time of the year.

Spring Time Desk Essentials

Hall Cough Drops // The amount of people in my office right now with a croupy cough is growing at a terrifyingly exponential rate. I’m stashing these in my desk so that when it inevitably comes to me I won’t be infesting everyone else.
Gauzy Scarf // Ya just never know when it comes to spring. One day it’s 60 and sunny and the next you have 3 inches of snow. It’s nice to have another layer in a basic pattern for back up.
Travel Kit of Bobby Pins  // I have roughly 2 million bobby pins, but the I believe it’s a law of nature that you can never find them when you need them. Instead of searching around the bottom of my purse when the start of the humidity kicks in, I’m going to be prepped with these bad boys ready to go so I don’t look like a lion.
Green Tea // Day Light Savings Time always throws me off an
d messes with my sleep cycle, so I love just a little extra caffeine in the afternoon. Plus green tea is great for you and helps keep me healthy!
Batiste Dry Shampoo // I saw a meme on Facebook the other day that said something like “I’m held together by caffeine and dry shampoo” and I don’t think a truer statement has ever been said. I just tried this stuff and already love it, works great and the smell is amazing which is weird and wonderful.
Travel Hair Spray // The humidity is not my friend. Neither is the straight up rain, so a little extra hairspray sometimes is needed to make sure I don’t look like a ragged crazy lady.
Airborne // Again, diseases. I just took some of this the other night as I felt a crummy cough coming on and instantly felt like I could fight it off. This stuff is a lifesaver if you catch it early, so it’s nice to have at work just incase a post-lunch cold is about to kick in (I don’t think that’s the name for it but you know what I mean).
EOS Hand Cream // I try not to get scented hand lotion for work cause I don’t want to be that person that smells like lemon or something all of a sudden, but this stuff feels so soft on I made an exception. Another exception: the stress relief hand cream from Bath & Body Works. Amazing.
Hair Ties // Needed to pull the hair from my face when I’m trying to focus.
Umbrella // I have this mini one and love it! Perfect size to throw in my bag, cute enough, but not childish. Win, win, win.
Extra Pair of Shoes // A lot of times in the winter or spring I’ll wear a pair of rain or warm boots in but change into flats once I get to my desk. It’s a great plan, except for when I forget my shoes. Oops. It’s good to have a plain back up pair just in case!

Let me know what you think!
